When Dreams Come TrueHave you ever had a boss who was temperamental and unreasonableâ€â€someone who made unrealistic demands and made all sorts of threats if you didn’t do whatever he asked?
I think Nebuchadnezzar was one such individual. After all, you don’t become king of the most overpowering, intimidating military force of your time by being a soft-hearted pansy! He significantly expanded the dominion of his kingdom by force. And from the stories we read in Daniel, Nebuchadnezzar was egotistical and perhaps quick-tempered. He viewed his subjects as expendable, freely giving the orders of execution if they did not meet his demands.
This makes the story of Daniel all the more impressive. So what can we learn from his story and how he responded to Nebuchadnezzar? What can we also learn about his relationship with God amidst extremely challenging circumstances?

The Main Character of the Book of Daniel
Today, the moral climate of our culture continues to slide further away from Biblical values. This makes our workplace a greater challenge when the values of our employers and co-workers do not reflect the grace and truth of God. It also makes connecting with friends and neighbors more difficult. So how do we maintain our integrity before God while relating to others in a society that does not acknowledge Him? How can we be salt and light to those who desperately need to know Jesus?
Join us as we open up the Old Testament book of Daniel and begin a new series, "Living for God in a Godless Culture"!

God's Heart For the LostAs was predicted, Trevor Lawrence was the #1 pick in yesterday's NFL draft. Lawrence played QB for Clemson and is a committed Christian who does not shy away from talking about his faith. It's natural to admire his boldness. In fact, we might find ourselves hoping that we would do the same if placed in the national spotlight.
However, God has placed people all around us who don't know Jesus. They are our neighbors, our friends, our co-workers, our family members--people for whom Jesus died, people who desperately need a Savior, people whom Christ has called us to tell about Him. Yet most of us feel inadequate when it comes to reaching people for Christ. So how do we fulfill this great commission that Jesus has entrusted to each of us? Where do we begin?

A Heady Discussion on Gender RolesLast year in our series on 1 Corinthians, I skipped over the passage where Paul addresses the issue of women and head coverings. I wasn't trying to avoid the passage, but rather it was a scheduling issue and I promised we would look at it this spring. However, as one commentator put it, "This passage is probably the most complex, controversial, and opaque of any text of comparable length in the New Testament."
Does that mean that 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 is so obscure and theoretical that it has no relevance for today? Not at all! There are important truths that affect our everyday life that we can still glean from this passage.
