Ruth^ Pechacek

Ruth and John joined HUMC in 2007, but they are not newcomers to this area. In 1971 they were looking for lakeshore porperty because John loves to fish and Ruth loves the water and woods. A relative told them about Lac Courte Oreilles. They had visited other lake properties in MN, but were lured by the uncrowded Hayward area and when they saw the clear lake water and sandy beaches, they were sold. They purchased the property and completed their house in 1996. Ruth and John met in college in River Falls and were married after John graduated. They lived in Edina where Ruth was the Operations Manager for an investment advisory firm and John was a Staff Systems Engineer for Lockheed Martin. Their son David, a software engineer, and his wife Leah have 2 daughters and live in Hayward. Son John, a software developer, and his wife Michele live in Cary, NC with 3 children. Ruth enjoys computer projects, family history, attending Women in Conversation and the HUMC Book Discussion Group.  She serves as the church Treasurer and Website Administrator. John has served on the Staff Parish Committee and enjoys playing guitar, woodworking and fishing. They share an interest in gardening, lake activities, spending time with grandchildren, attending adult Bible study, and singing in the church choir and community choir.
