But for many of us, that experience is foreign. We sometimes pray, even read the Bible. But God seems more like an abstract, theological truth than the One who desires to turn our world upside down. It’s almost like God is in another room, while we are sitting in the waiting room—but waiting for what? We don’t quite know. So what keeps us from experiencing God? Ever since the fall of man, the “Missio Dei" or the Mission of God" has been to call a lost world back to Himself. His mission began in Genesis and it will be consummated as told to us in Revelation. Jesus defined His mission in this simple statement: “For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." But His mission is also our mission. He commissions us, “As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
