We know that God is jealous for us. But are we (you) jealous for God? Do you grieve and get troubled when God is mocked or ignored or dragged through the mud? Phinehas was. We don't want to imitate his actions, but we should pray for his zealous...and jealous...attitude towards God's holiness.

There are many degrees of persecution that are happening around the world today. Perhaps you are suffering from on. This was preached in view of the National Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church, but one week late.

How many of us feel like the years have been stolen from us? How much sin has eaten away at our lives---our sin or the sins of others. Sacrifice, mistakes, lost opportunities. We can restore almost anything but we cannot restore the years. Only God can do that. And He promises that He will if we repent and believe.

The last in my series "What in the world is a Christian to do?" Stand firm! Hold fast! When the pressures of the culture and society seek to knock us down or cause us to drift, keep to the truth and the ways of God as given to us in the Bible. Don't waver!

This world is pretty messed up and Christians have an awful lot of struggles and suffering in it. How do we deal with it? How can we get through all the pain and hurt and anguish? Look forward to God's glory to be revealed to us!!

How is the Christian to relate to government? What about when the government is corrupt? Do we rebel? Do we disobey? Do we simply submit? The Bible gives us good direction in these matters.

Where are the tears? Where is the anguish for those who are lost and without Christ? Do we care? What is stopping us from praying and pleading to God to save them? Why do we not weep for the lost? The apostles did. Jesus did. Maybe we ought to pray for the spirit of sorrow and anguish for those who are perishing. Maybe then true revival will happen.

A Christian living in this world is to be salt and light. He/she is seasoning to the world; a preservative in the world so more may come to know Jesus; maybe even an irritant in the world. The Christian is a light bearer, illuminating truth, lighting the way to truth and joy in Jesus. Basically, the Christian should change his/her environment for the better and for God's glory.

How is a Christian to live in this crazy world of sin and declining morals? What does God tell us about how we can live out the gospel?

One of the worst things that can come upon a church is a spirit of complacency. What is it? What does it look like? How can we avoid it? May the church of Jesus Christ be zealous as we glorify our Savior.
