"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God." Easier said then done right? But the intentions of Jesus remains. We are sons & daughters of God. He is our Heavenly Father- so that makes us family. And as we are rightly related to our Father. He bids us to make peace. I want to do something new at HNC. I want you to partner with me to create a culture of peace in our church, in our family, and our individual lives as an avenue of glorifying God and experiencing corporate holiness.

There are many ways listed for believers to live out their faith through love. And the closing prayer and blessing of verse 20-21 beautifully summarizes the big ideas of the entire letter: Peace,the risen Christ, spiritual maturity, the blood of Jesus, the covenant, and God's work in the believer.

Mount Sinai is: the earthly mountain, the old Covenant, the unapproachable, awesome God. A mountain that cannot be touched, burning with fire, darkness, gloom, and storm, trumpet blast, God's voice of warning and judgment, terrible sight, the people were scared, thought they were going to die, even Moses was scared. Exodus 19:18 New Covenant is: The heavenly mountain, the New Covenant, the awesome God, approachable through the blood of Jesus, the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God, An immense joyful assembly of angels, the church of the firstborn, the righteous who been made perfect. Now did you notice the image of Mount Sinai is not presented in a favorable light? The 10 Commandments were given on Mt. Sinai, they are clearly God's character written in words and His will for how the nation of Israel was to relate to God and other people. However, scriptures teach that nobody ever has or ever will be able to keep the 10 Commandments except Jesus. Romans 3:23-24 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."

"Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted." Don't give up were in it until our last breath. Psalm 90:12 "Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom." Rev. 2:10 "...be faithful unto death and I will give you the crown of life."

Therefore since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
