Summary

Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness—all great things! So we try to act more loving. We put on a smile and try to rejoice. We pray and hope for peace of mind. We bite our tongue and hold our anger. Outwardly we look good, but deep down inside there is the nagging awareness that something is amiss. Our hurting marriages, our struggles at work, our rocky relationships, our haggard schedules all reveal cracks in our lives that tell us that our spirituality may not be working as well as we had hoped. God promises to make us into new creations—the old has passed and the new has come. We know this is true in the spiritual realm, but what about in the emotional realm? Did God intend to transform us emotionally? If so, what does that look like? How does that happen? What does it mean to become an emotionally healthy person?
