Someone once wrote: “It is the VETERAN, not the preacher who has given us freedom of religion. It is the VETERAN, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the VETERAN, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the VETERAN, not the campus organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble. It is the VETERAN, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It is the VETERAN, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote. It is the VETERAN, who salutes the flag, who serves under the flag.” I pray that we all will answer the call to be a good soldier of Jesus Christ. May we realize that as children of God we have a Duty to obey Him. Our Desire in being good soldiers includes pleasing our commanding officer. We are in a spiritual battle and we must engage the enemy. Satan is a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Our focus will be our battles with the enemy and not each other. We all know that God Demands a life of service to Him. We are saved to serve, not to sit. We must take on the motto of our Savior--“I must be about My Father’s business.”
