Summary

Death row privileges. This contrasting phrase is used to describe the 'perks' of being a prisoner condemned to die. Special lawyers. Private cells. Special clergy visits. Last meals. Codified in our law are several self-indulgent practices just for those we will execute. In John 17, we see a man condemned to die, who is the opposite of self-indulgent. His service and prayers for his people continue even to the Cross. And what vital prayer for his people is that they be set apart by God's Word.
