Summary

We began a few weeks ago looking at the faithfulness of God. We often sing of His great faithfulness. We learned that even when we are faithless, He remains faithful. Lamentations 3:22,23 says, “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS.” And David encourages us in the 37th Psalm to “feed on His faithfulness.” We can feed on His faithfulness by declaring that He is Faithful in His PROMISES. The Scriptures are crystal clear that what God says He will do. Not one word has failed. “Promise” is “a declaration that one will do or refrain from doing something specified.” In Latin it can mean “set forth.” So God “sets forth” what He will do. His promises are true! “I will build My church.” “I will be with you.” “I will strengthen you.” “I will pour out My Spirit.” And finally, “I will come again.” These are just some of the promises our Lord has made unto us. God is the giver. We are on the receiving end of His great and precious promises! The greatest promise was the gift of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! God is faithful in His Promises! Three things that God promises us should serve as great encouragement. First of all God Promises to SAVE. He promises to save all those who ask. Romans 10:13 says, “Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Jesus said, “verily, verily I say unto you, He that believes on Me has everlasting life.” Jesus came to seek and save those who are lost. He is not just a way to heaven, He is the only way. Acts 4:12 states, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” The Bible is clear. God promises salvation to all who believe in Jesus Christ and receive Him into their heart. God also Promises to SUPPLY. He promises to meet our needs. God always comes through. In Philippians four Paul says, “my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” God will take care of His own. The righteous will never be forsaken nor will His descendents be seen begging for bread. God is our sufficiency. He will meet every physical, emotional, or spiritual need that we may have. God Promises to Supply all our needs. And finally God Promises to SEAL. He places His mark upon us as His children. We are sealed by the Holy Spirit. He has given us the Spirit in our heart as a deposit for things to come. Ephesians four tells us that we have been sealed for the day of redemption. We can count on this promise from God. We are Sealed by His Holy Spirit. Praise God for His faithfulness. May we “feed” on His faithfulness as we continue to serve Him and trust His Promises to us!
