Summary

Advertising directed toward specific, interested consumers has been around along time. In the computer age, targeted advertising has been taken to a whole new level. Why do advertisers spend so much time and energy to direct their advertising? Because it works. Christians also have a message to proclaim to the masses: the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Should we adopt the philosophy of targeted advertising to reach those "more likely to respond?" Or does this thinking corrupt our theology of humanity, of God, and of the Gospel?
