Summary

Why would the Gospel author Luke spend so much space writing about John (the Baptist)? Isn't his Gospel about Jesus? Yes. And the story of John the Baptist is really just part of the story of Jesus. But John is not markedly different from us. Our story is really a part of the story of Jesus too...either unto salvation or condemnation. As we approach Christmas, God is calling us to be a part of the merciful story of Jesus, through repentance and faith.
