Who Do You Say That I Am?

“Household of God – Heirs! Inhabited! Sealed!”- Ephesians 1:3-14 Theme for 2013: Household of God – understanding that we are the Household of God and what it means to be the Household of God. Review: Members of God’s Household are blessed by God with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. Blessings considered thus far: Members of God’s Household are 1)Chosen us in Christ; 2)Adopted in Christ; 3)Redeemed in Christ; 4)Forgiven in Christ; 5)Included in Christ in God’s eternal plan. Ephesians 1:3-14 Members of the Household of God are: 6)Heirs in Christ – we have “obtained” an inheritance – by Christ’s . merit alone. John 3:16; Matthew 5:3, 10; Matthew 5:5; II Peter 3:13 7)Inhabited by the Holy Spirit – He is with us and within us. John 14:15-17 8)Sealed by the Holy Spirit – Mark of ownership, guarantee of Inheritance, security. 3 Threads woven through the text: 1)Purpose and will of God – vss1, 5, 9-11 2)Glory of God – vss6, 12, 14 3)Grace of God – vss6, 7-8 Vitally important: I) Humbly see ourselves as God sees us – Heirs, Holy Spirit inhabited, sealed for eternity! II) See our brothers & sisters in Christ as God sees them – fellow-heirs, temples of the Holy Spirit, sealed for eternity. Love one another now. III) Pray for those outside the household, who have no inheritance, do not have the Holy Spirit, are not sealed for eternity. IV) Embrace Jesus Christ by faith as your Savior & Lord – hope in Him alone for right standing with God & eternal life. Romans 10:13 We are the Household of God!

“Household of God– Adopted! Redeemed! Forgiven! Included!”- Ephesians 1:3-10 Theme for 2013: Household of God – understanding that we are the Household of God and what it means to be the Household of God. The 1st blessing mentioned is that God has chosen us in Christ, before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy & blameless before Him. Ephesians 1:3-10 Members of the Household of God are: I) Adopted! - “Placed into the position of sons in God’s family.” John 1:12-13 II) Redeemed! – “Liberation procured by the payment of a ransom.” III) Forgiven! – “Pardon of sins as if they had never been committed.” IV) Included! – Let in on the plan of the ages, of which we are part. Vitally important: I) Humbly see ourselves as God sees us – His adopted, redeemed, forgiven children, included in His eternal plan. Trust Him – take hold of God and pull! II) See our brothers & sisters in Christ as God sees them. Accept, forgive, include. III) Pray for those outside the household. IV) Embrace Jesus Christ by faith as your Savior & Lord – hope in Him alone for right standing with God & eternal life. Romans 10:13 We are the Household of God!
