Review: 1) Every individual believer is a member of the Household of God. 2) Every local church is a household of God. 3) The Household of God, then, is a Household of households. 4) Every local church is a household of households. Ephesians 2:19-22 I)“No longer strangers and aliens,” but “fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God.” (19) II)“Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets” (20) III)“Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone” (20) IV)God is building and dwells within His Household (21-22) 4 Levels of the Household 1)Every individual believer is a member of the Household/family of God, the Church worldwide. 2)Every local church is a household of God. 3)The Household of God, then, is a household of households – many local church families making up the worldwide Church. 4)Every local church is a household of households – made up of several households/families. 4 Parting Shots A)If we are in Christ, then we belong, 1st to Him, but also to each other and the whole Household of God. B)How we conduct ourselves (Vernon ACC) as a household of God reflects upon the Household of God. C)How we conduct our households (ourselves and our families) reflects upon the household (church) we are. D)Unity/Oneness in the Household and households results in God’s glory and effective witness. Where there is no oneness, the message is muted. We are the Household of God!

Sermon Outline “Until He Comes: Be Devoted to Prayer” - Colossians 4:2-6 Until Jesus comes, continue steadfastly/be devoted to prayer. Colossians 4:2-6 “proskatereo” - “adhere to, be devoted to, be steadfastly attentive unto, give unremitting care to” (Strong’s) - prayer. Through prayer, we are kept alert. Through thanksgiving, our attitude is aligned. With prayer as our starting point & pathway, we can make the best use of our time. Pray in the Spirit - Ephesians 6:18, Jude 1:20 Pray faithfully for: 1)Your own Christian walk - 3:1-17 (*need not post) 2)Your marriage - 3:18-19 (and those of others) 3)Your children/family - 3:20-21 4)Your witness at work - 3:22-25 5)Your co-workers 6)Your employer/boss/employees - 4:1 7)The work of God throughout the world/our area - 4:2-4 8)Your witness & that of our church - 4:5-6 The unsaved you know 9)Your brothers & sisters in Christ - 4:7-17 (*need not post) 10)The soon return of the King, Christ Jesus - I Corinthians 16:22, Revelation 22:20 Until He comes, pray!
