Summary

Paul has labored to show (1:18-3:20) that no distinction exists between Jews and Gentiles regarding our sin. All mouths are shut and works will not justify. As a result, Paul now shows us that no distinction exists in how we are counted right with God. Our only hope of salvation is through faith in the perfect work of Christ. Even now as we live as Christians, may we not pine after making prideful distinctions among ourselves. May we only rejoice in the grace shown us through Christ to make us children of God.
