When we deliver a message, our purpose for delivering it inevitably affects how we deliver it. This is true for a less-than-enthusiastic telemarketer, or for the apostle Paul. Paul not only correctly delivers the Gospel message to those who will listen; he delivers it for a purpose: to bring about faith and obedience in his hearers, and to glorify Christ. How do we deliver the Gospel message? To glorify ourselves and as a duty? Or to glorify Christ by clearly and passionately calling for faith and obedience to those who hear?
