Summary

In this sermon from Genesis 15:5-21, we evaluate the nature of a covenant as an agreement that blends love and law. In forming a covenant with us, we see God’s loving and gracious activity in giving us a promise that we are helpless to bring about on our own. In forming a covenant with us, we also see God’s gracious activity in taking the legal penalty of breaking the covenant upon himself.
