Summary

How does a small church appoint multiple elders? Several practical hurdles exist; but before we can even address those, one theological hurdle exists to having more than one pastor. This passage and 1 Timothy 5:17-18 show us that pastors are worthy of wages for their labor in the Word. A small church cannot pay more than one pastor. Would a small church disobey God by not paying some pastors? Paul shows us that ministers of the Gospel can choose to waive that right for the sake of the Gospel.
