Summary

Mount Sinai is: the earthly mountain, the old Covenant, the unapproachable, awesome God. A mountain that cannot be touched, burning with fire, darkness, gloom, and storm, trumpet blast, God's voice of warning and judgment, terrible sight, the people were scared, thought they were going to die, even Moses was scared. Exodus 19:18 New Covenant is: The heavenly mountain, the New Covenant, the awesome God, approachable through the blood of Jesus, the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God, An immense joyful assembly of angels, the church of the firstborn, the righteous who been made perfect. Now did you notice the image of Mount Sinai is not presented in a favorable light? The 10 Commandments were given on Mt. Sinai, they are clearly God's character written in words and His will for how the nation of Israel was to relate to God and other people. However, scriptures teach that nobody ever has or ever will be able to keep the 10 Commandments except Jesus. Romans 3:23-24 "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus."
