Summary

We are obsessed with our own identity. We want to know who we are, and we labor to let others know who we are. Pride, both old-fashioned and cutting edge, drives us to this. Paul also focuses on identity in the first 15 verses of Romans. Is he motivated by pride? No. Paul describes himself and his readers to drive them to humility, using the identity that God has given them by grace through Jesus Christ.
